This is a good video to continue to teach my kids Spanish. My parents are Colombian so I grew speaking Spanish and wanted to pass on the language to my kids. I noticed they would understand it but not want to speak it. This video has helped them feel more confident to speak Spanish. I plan on buying the next 2 videos that follow this one. By the way my kids's ages are 11, 9, 4, & 1. My oldest thought the video was stupid at first but he is learning a lot. They all find it entertaining, which helps them absorb more. Now I have high hopes my kids will be speaking Spanish fluently! - Shirley

As an elementary level Spanish teacher, I can think of no finer tool for introducing foreign language than Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids. The program is immersive, strategic and lots of fun. My students were engaged, excited and using the language outside of class with family and friends. That's because FLK delivers a coherent and authentic experience with characters the kids love and relevant situations that make therm laugh and learn simultaneously. The colorful, engaging workbooks are invaluable, whether online or paper versions, for reinforcing vocabulary and grammar. The other day a teacher told me that her students were disappointed that Spanish had been cancelled because of changes in our schedule that day. The teacher told them that if they had Spanish they would miss recess. Their response: "We'd rather have Spanish than recess!!!" Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids is a leap forward in foreign language acquisition for kids--and for their parents, too! -- Anne

I purchased your complete kit at the IAHE about three weeks ago and I must say my kids and I absolutely LOVE it! They are learning so much and they feel comfortable speaking the words they know too. This is such an answer to prayer as I have tried every curriculum I can find and none of them get my kids communicating in Spanish which we desperately need since their grandparents are from Guatemala. Thank you for all your hard work and effort. It is truly changing our lives everyday! - Amanda, May, 2016

Just want to take a minute to let you know that I am overwhelmingly impressed, although not at all surprised, with how effective FLK has been for my students after just three weeks. I teach at alternate elementary schools each week, so I see students at each school for two half hour sessions every other week. I have worked with the first unit in various ways, and students I have not seen in two weeks remain conversant in the language of Basketballs Aren't for Breakfast. From the second graders, through the 5th graders, I walk into a room and hear, "desaYUnoooo," and "Donde esta?" and "Me gustan las pelotas de basquetbol!" I can see that classroom teachers are impressed, and the kids have told me they are using their Spanish at home. All of this, and my students have not had access to all of the components of the program.

As you know, upon my initial contact with the program, I immediately recognized two critical components: student engagement and pedagogical strategy. FLK has delivered. Thank you, Kit!...

I see so much more going on here than language acquisition--I see self-confidence acquisition, and and that love of learning that we work so hard to nurture, taking hold in the world language classroom. - Anne, February, 2016

I have to tell you that the response from my students so far has been remarkable. This morning I saw a class that had seen the video a couple of days ago, and they remembered almost everything from the Basket Balls lessons. I used it over a few grade levels, and students were really engaged.

It is going GREAT. We wend very slow with it as my kids are ages 2, 5, and 8. My 2 yo says "me gusta" often at the dinner table…especially, if we are eating Mexican food. Teehee I am increasing our lessons to 2 per week starting in March and look forward to our progress. I had 2 years in high school, but it’s very rusty, of course. The program is helping me as well. Looking forward to moving on. Thanks so much!

My son loves these videos. I haven't been drawn to immersion before because it seems so daunting to just throw a child into something that's entirely in Spanish, but these videos make it easy for children to figure out what's being said. My child was immediately repeating phrases.

They are very interested in the videos and are anxious to find out what "grande" means.

Your program engages my active 7 year old son as well as my 11 year old daughter unlike anything we have tried such as, Sonrisas, Dino Lingo, Learnables, and PetraLinga. One thing not really noted on your website but is a huge plus is that all the videos and workbooks are iPad compatible. After just 2 short videos my kids are referring to breakfast and items in Spanish. I cannot say enough great things about this program, as my kids absolutely love it!

From an elementary school teacher:

Hello,
I am a Spanish teacher at an Elementary School in Maine. I teach grades K-5. The kids and I love your videos. They get a kick out of Eli, Andy, and Parker. One of my students went home and told his parents that he had learned some new words in Spanish. I don't think that has happened in the 15 years I have been teaching here. Great program!

Thank you for inspiring my students. They are so excited, they want to perform some of the skits for the end of the year program.

Sincerely,
Lisa

Hi Kit, I just put the second dvd into dvd player. Right after the dvd started playing, I heard my children rushing downstairs to join me... maybe I can use your dvd for dinner bell too because I don't have to call them out to come down.

My seven year old granddaughter did all nine lessons in one sitting. She loved it. I will have her repeat them several times. I was a Spanish teacher and I like this program. Are there more Spanish lessons?

After watching [Basketballs Aren't for Breakfast] for 3 or 4 days, my son bursts into my room saying, "Mommy, mommy, how do I watch the next video? Where is it? I am ready for it now."

I was brought up in Buenos Aires, so my Spanish is fine. Unfortunately, we have neglected my grandson’s languages, but we are trying to make amends. At age 03, sounds are the most important.
